The 6th Annual Ernie DiBella Memorial Matches

Pittsford, NY

Ernie DiBella is honored to have the DiBella Memorial Matches named for him. "It's flattering how much they all respect me, but I really wish I could share the honor with some of my former co-workers at Sutherland" said DiBella. "Allow me to take a moment to say a few words about each one"

Pete was a trip. He was the only one who knew about Karen McDougle and her friend Toughie. Petey was underrated in the history department as he basically taught the thugs who enrolled in AP courses. But, oh what a character.

Tommy and I weren't the closest of friends. Let's face it, I'm a man's man, and he was just, well, a bit of a metro-sexual if you will. Tom, however, was very important to my career when it came to teaching me about "chemicals" and how they relate to my wrestlers. I had to go to him when Forte was looking for The Cream. Gotta have the science geeks around every so often.

Bayne and I used to go hunting every so often, but we stopped when he accused me of being a communist for wearing red instead of bright orange. Bayne was a good man. However, I thought it was a little low that he granted all female basketball players A+'s in his class. I also never really knew what went on behind closed doors in that "seminar room." must have been communist propoganda.

Joel is a great guy. I was a little worried when I heard his whistling "I'm Henry the Eight I am" in the hall, and when I saw him meditating in front of a picture of Voltare. That being said, he was one of the few people to truly realize how lazy Mr. Bielawa and Mr. Martin are.

David helped me balance the budget of the Golf team for all the years of my reign as head coach. It wasn't too hard, but I had trouble adding up the gross expenses associated with all those lovely DT Wounds that we purchased for the kids. Storch told me a story once about two kids standing up for an entire AP math class for no reason....that must have been a scene. He added that another notable member of the DiBella field got kicked out of one of his finals. That must have been a good story.

Rod is responsible for about 45 pounds of my stunning figure. Every time he talked about a new cheese that he tried in Italy, I had to go out and try it. I tried to read Hamlet once, but couldn't get by page 4. Really, who cares about some homo in Denmark, and who in their right mind talks in Iambic Pentameter? I wish I could have looked as sexy in blue sweaters and grey pants and Rod did.

Matt was a good man. He was one of the only guys on staff who could compete with me in an arm wrestling battle, although I still smoked him repeatedly. I've never seen anyone of that stature try to fit into the tight baseball uniforms of Sutherland baseball, but he pulled it off quite nicely. Quite a smart ass too. I appreciated that.
